Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s export turnover hit 19.94 billion USD in May, up 13.2percent year-on-year, reported the Trade Policy and Strategy Office under the Ministryof Commerce.
The country’s revenuereached a record high in the past 52 months and its export earnings areprojected to grow 10 percent this year.
Meanwhile, Thailand’simport value rose 18.2 percent to 19 billion USD in May, resulting in a tradesurplus of 944 million USD.
According to theoffice, Thailand’s export revenues increased 7.2 percent to 93.26 billion USD inthe first five months of 2017.
The SoutheastAsian country’s exports have thriven thanks to positive prospects of the globaleconomy, especially in its key and traditional export markets.-VNA
