Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand reported a daily record of15,376 new COVID-19 cases on July 26 morning, taking the country's accumulatedcaseload to over half a million.
The nation’s Public Health Ministry also announced 87 newfatalities linked to the virus, hence a death toll of 4,146.
The volume of COVID-19 infections in Bangkok is likely todecline in the next four to six weeks, according to the Department of DiseaseControl (DDC).
Chakkarat Pittayawong-anont, director of the epidemiologydivision at the DDC, said Thailand is expected to see more COVID-19 casesin the provinces including family transmission and those who return home forcare and treatment.
He said the situation in Bangkok is different from thesurrounding provinces, adding that despite a rise in cases, the vaccinationrate here is relatively high at 50 percent./.
