The ministry was concernedabout the crowds of people taking part in kathin festivals duringOctober-November, amid reports of the XBBsub-variant spreading in Singapore, Hong Kong and some European countries.
The Thai Department of Disease Control reportedthat 2,616 COVID-19 infections, an average of 373 per day, were hospitalised fortreatment during October 16-22, as compared to 2,234, a daily average of 319,in the previous week.
