Thailand to promote three agendas at ASEAN summits

Bangkok (VNA) - Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-o-cha will promote three key agendas at the 38th and 39th ASEAN summits and related meetings on October 26-28,according to ThaiGovernment Spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana.

PM Prayut will focus on measures torespond to the spread of and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, post-pandemicsustainable recovery, and maintaining peace and security in the region in responseto geopolitical upheaval, the spokesperson said.

Thailand will express its support for a comprehensive responseto the spread and impact of COVID-19, he said.

The 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits and related meetings will take place viaonline conference under the theme "We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper".  The events are expected to see theparticipation of leaders or representativesof ASEAN member countries, the Secretary-General of ASEAN and leaders from ASEAN's dialogue partner countries includingChina, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the US, Australia, India, Russia and NewZealand./.
