Thai Labour Minister Adul Saengsingkaew presided over thecertificate granting ceremony for some 70 workers who have completed skilldevelopment courses at the International Labour Skill Development Institute inChiang Rai.
He said the courses were provided as part of the nationalstrategy to promote the competitiveness which extends to workers from neighbouringcountries such as Laos, who have participated in the training programmes, andwill be able to pass on the knowledge to other people.
The Chiang Saen International Skill Development Institute inChiang Rai was established as a skill development centre serving the Mekong region'seconomic corridor, covering Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, andsouthern China.
The institute is aimed to help promote positive relationsamong the general public between these countries in bid to enhance theircapabilities and promote international cooperation.-NNT/VNA
