Thailand, Pakistan to discuss FTA in September

The Ministry of Commerce has disclosed that a discussion on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Thailand and Pakistan will be held in September.
The Ministry of Commerce has disclosed that a discussion on Free TradeAgreement (FTA) between Thailand and Pakistan will be held in September.

Commerce Minister General Chatchai Sarikalya stated thatthe decision came after a recent talk with his Pakistani counterpartabout the Agreement.

According to him, the FTA discussion,scheduled for September, will focus on trades and investments, sayingthat the two nations are aiming at achieving 2.08 billion USD in tradevalue by 2018.

Thailand will join the 3rd Joint TradeCommittee (JTC) Meeting held in Pakistan’s Islamabad in July, and willlater host the first round of FTA meeting in September.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
