Bangkok (VNA) - About 10,000 policemen will be posted at various spotsto ensure safety for ASEAN leaders who will attend the 34th ASEANSummit in Bangkok on June 22-23, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of nationalsecurity affairs Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan said on June 17.
DeputyNational Police Commissioner General Pol. Gen. Srivara Ransibrahmanakulconfirmed that no flooding or heavy traffic will happen during the Summithours.
Allrelated units have been instructed to take all measures to provide promptness,conveniences, safety and honour for the Summit attendees, he added.
The34th ASEAN Summit will take place on June 22-23 under the chair ofThai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
ASEAN leaders are expected to discuss numerous issues, including theIndo-Pacific Strategy, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP),and the situation of Myanmar’s Rakhine state.-VNA
