Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand andMyanmar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cross-bordertransport at the 23rd Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) conference recently heldin Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The MoU is part of the Cross-Border TransportAgreement (CBTA), which will apply to cross border trade between Mae Sotdistrict in Tak and Myawaddy in Myanmar, local media reported.
The MoU involves both nations improving immigration checkpoint and logisticclearances at the crossing, the Bangkok Post said.
Cross-border trade between Thailand and Myanmarreached 193 billion baht (6.4 billion USD) in 2018, a year-on-year rise of 4.9percent./.
