According to TeerapatPrayurasiddhi, Deputy Director General of the Department of NationalParks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP), the activities, under thetheme of “Stop consuming, Stop hunting, and Stop smuggling”, aim topreserve the wildlife such as elephants, tigers, snakes, tortoises, andarmadillos, whose lives have been threatened by the presence of humanbeings.
As many as 642 cases of wildlife smuggling have been reported so far this year, said the deputy director.
Theactivities include a campaign to protect wildlife, an exhibitiondepicting the King’s and Queen’s roles in protecting the wildlife, andanimal shows, as well as other performances.-VNA
