Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – Thailand's Laem Chabang Port and China's Qinzhou Port havesigned a sister port agreement to promote trade and maritimeconnectivity between Thailand and China, both of which will set up ajoint working group and host a biennial meeting.
LaemChabang Port and Qinzhou Port are currently providing three freightservices with an emphasis on shipping fruit. The Chinese governmentpreviously designated ports around Beibu Gulf in the Guangxi ZhuangAutonomous Region, the country’s gateway to ASEAN, and Qinzhou Port asthe logistics hub.
Meanwhile,Thailand is expanding Laem Chabang Port to accommodate the EasternEconomic Corridor (EEC). The Thai-Chinese collaboration will promoteshipments of fruit and cars in the future.-NNT/VNA
