Thai retail trade fair opens in HCM City

More than 100 Thai businesses are exhibiting their wares at the 2012Thailand Products Retail Fair in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event is co-organised by the Department of Export Promotions underThailand ’s Ministry of Commerce, the Thai Embassy and otherpromoters in Vietnam .

On display are topquality popular Thai products such as foodstuffs, beverages, fruit,household products, domestic electrical goods, textiles, jewellery,healthcare products, cosmetics, auto equipment and spare parts.

Nguyen Minh Thanh, Director of the company TM-DV Minh Thanh, said thatthis year the annual fair has attracted a huge number of visitors. Thaiproducts are popular with many Vietnamese consumers, due to theirattractive designs, good quality and competitive prices.

Organisers said that this year’s event has seen a significant increasein the number of Thai businesses taking part and shows the growinginterest that overseas retailers are having in the Vietnamese market.

Apart from taking part in the exhibition, numerousThai businesses are keen to survey the market and seek out cooperativeopportunities with new partners in Vietnam .
