Earlier thismonth, PM Prayut said he was considering a reshuffle and was thinking ofreducing the number of military officers in the Cabinet and replacing them withcivilians.
In the proposedCabinet reshuffle, according to local media sources, Minister of Agricultureand Cooperatives General Chatchai Sarikulya would be shifted to the Ministry ofNatural Resources or the Ministry of Labour to fill a vacancy created by theresignation of General Sirichai Distakul early this month.
Chatchai’scurrent post would be undertaken by former permanent secretary and formeragriculture minister Yukol Limlamthong.
Speculation alsoindicated that Chutima Bunyapraphasara, currently Deputy Minister ofAgriculture and Cooperatives, might replace Minister of Commerce ApiradiTantraporn.
Police ChiefGeneral Chakthip Chaijinda would be named Minister of Justice or Minister of Socialand Human Development, while Minister of Social and Human Development GeneralAdul Saengsingkaew would be reshuffled to the post of deputy PM.-VNA
