Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s parliament began a two-day specialsession on October 26 to discuss solutions to the recent political crisis.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Chuan Leekpai calledon MPs and senators to make a concerted effort to find a solution to thepolitical conflict.

Student-led protests have escalated over the past threemonths, and with the latest one on October 14, when demonstrators gathered enmasse in the Thai capital.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha declared a state ofemergency in Bangkok effective from 4:00 am on October 15 to control theescalating pro-democracy protest by demonstrators. He removed the status onOctober 22.

In a televised speech on October 21 evening, the PM calledon relevant parties to keep calm and take part in dialogue to solveconflicts./.
