Thai Nguyen vibrant with summer camp activities

A raft of ebullient activities were held at the 2015 International Summer Camp, organised in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on June 21 as part of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the normalisation of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US.

Numerousstudents from the US, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam joinedactivities to introduce Vietnamese culture and people, such as pitchingcamp in the unique style of each nation and playing Vietnamesetraditional games and masquerades.

The highlight of the culturalparty was the exchange between students from Thai Nguyen province andThao & Get Down Stay Down band, a San Francisco, California-basedfolk rock music group.

The four-member band,including a Vietnamese- American- Thao Nguyen, a vocalist and guitarplayer, treated the audience to 12 audacious songs from the album “Wethe Common”.

The event also featured brilliant performances by foreign students.

Theevent left great impression on the participants, helping foster thefriendship, solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and the US.

Onthe occasion, students visited famous destinations in Thai Nguyenprovince such as the Nui Coc Lake tourism site and the Museum ofVietnam’s Ethnic Cultures.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
