Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Thai government markedAnti-Trafficking Day on June 5 by reiterating its commitment to a decisivecrackdown on human trafficking activities.
Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha inaugurated thisyear's event on the concept "Pracharat Against the Threat of HumanTrafficking," with ambassadors and representatives of embassies,international organisations, and over 500 attendees from public and privateorganisations expressing their commitment to fighting human trafficking.
Gen Prayut confirmed that during the past four years, thegovernment has been committed to reforming the country's efforts against humantrafficking through legal action and enforcement, and by protecting humantrafficking victims and launching anti-trafficking campaigns. He urged allagencies involved to remain committed to working together to prevent andsuppress human trafficking.
The Prime Minister also gave awards to agencies and officialswith outstanding performance in the prevention and suppression of humantrafficking crime, including winners of the youth drawing contest, Line stickerdesign competition, and slogan contest.-NNT/VNA
