In a recent meeting with representatives from the plant, Deputy PM Thanh asked relevant parties to make greater efforts to meet the above deadline, saying that if the factory is put into operation early, it can save tens of billions of VND.
He commended PetroVietnam for showing a high sense of responsibility towards the project as seen in its handling of related tasks, laying the premise to meet the deadline set by the Politburo, the Party Secretariat, the Government and the Prime Minister.
The project has been also received support from ministries, sectors and the local authorities, he added.
Deputy PM Thanh underlined the need to closely follow the overall progress of the project, as well as of each important item.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Director of PetroVietnam Pham Tien Dung, who is also head of the management board of the project, said construction of priority items has been sped up.
According to Chairman of PetroVietnam Hoang Quoc Vuong, the group considers the Thai Binh 2 thermal power plant its most important political tasks.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Dong Hai pledged that the local authorities will do their best to support PetroVietnam, the project’s management board, contractors and construction units so that the project will be completed on time./.
