Thailand's National Legislative Assembly (NLA) approved amendments to the country's draft constitution on June 18, paving the way for holding a referendum on the new constitution next year.

Since coming topower in May 2014, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has set up a numberof committees in charge of the country’s reforms, including a committeeto compile the new constitution.

The PM has 15 days to present the draft constitution to King Bhumibol Adulyadej for his approval.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
