Hanoi (VNA) –Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has assigned Minister of Labour, Invalids andSocial Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung to submit a plan to present Lunar New Year (Tet)gifts to revolution contributors to the State President.
Under the plan, gifts worth 600,000 VND (26 USD)each will be presented to people engaging in revolutionary activities, HeroicVietnamese Mothers, people honoured with the Hero of the People’s Armed Forcesand the Hero of Labour titles during resistance wars.
War invalids losing at least81 percent of working capability, along with resistance war veterans who were contaminatedwith chemical toxics and lost 81 percent or more of work capability will alsoreceive gifts of the same value.
There is also another kind of gifts with a valueof 300,000 VND each, to be presented to war invalids or war veterans losing 80percent or less of their work capability.
Other contributors to the revolution, martyrs’ families,and those worshipping martyrs are also expected to benefit from this proposedplan under certain criteria.
Presenting Tet gifts to revolution contributors hasbecome an annual tradition demonstrating the State and people’s gratitude tothe ones who dedicated to the struggle for national independence andreunification./.
