Tet gifts given to Vietnamese in Cambodia

The Association of Cambodians of Vietnamese Origin in Koh Kong province on February 3 presented gifts to more than 100 poor overseas Vietnamese living in the locality as Tet, the lunar New Year of the Vietnamese, is coming.

The gifts are the association’s efforts to bring joy for the disadvantaged during the Tet festival.

There are now over 1,000 Vietnamese Cambodians in Koh Kong province.Most of them earn their living on fishing and handicraft making with lowincome.

Since its establishment, theassociation has provided assistance for overseas Vietnamese andencouraged them to abide by the local country’s laws and contribute toits socio-economic development.

It has alsocalled on donors to raise funds for charitable activities, includingproviding free health check-ups and treatment for poor Vietnamese andCambodia.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
