Tay Ninh: 175 billion VND for upgrade of power grid works

The Tay Ninh Power Company has splashed out 175 billion VND (7.7 million USD) on the upgrade and repair of 45 electricity grid works in key economic zones, as well as rural and border areas.

Tay Ninh (VNA) – The Tay Ninh Power Company has splashed out 175billion VND (7.7 million USD) on the upgrade and repair of 45 electricity gridworks in key economic zones, as well as rural and border areas.

Of the total amount, 131.4 billion VND (5.8 million USD) has been invested inlow- and medium-voltage transmission lines and transformation stations. Theremainder has been used for the upgrade of medium-voltage transmission lines toensure the safety of the national power grid.

Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Power Company Tran Thanh Liem said that sincethe outset of the year, the provincial electricity sector has put into use 17power grid works, including more than 90km of medium-voltage lines; 57km oflow-voltage lines; and transformation stations with a combined capacity of over8,000 kVA at industrial and economic zones, and border districts.

The firm has fulfilled 55.26 percent of the target set for the whole year, henoted.

In addition, repairs and upgrades were also made to various power works toensure safety from potential floods during the rainy season.

Since April 2018, investments worth over 10 billion VND (440,000 USD) have beenspent on equipment and human resources to improve customer services and reduceincidents of power outages.  

As of July 31, all communes, wards, and towns in the province were connected tothe national grid. Some 292,710 households had access to electricity,accounting for 99.6 percent of the total number.–VNA
