Hanoi (VNA)– The Prime Minister has approved a programme on developing the supportingindustry which is expected to meet 45 percent of the demand of domestic productionby 2020 and 65 percent by 2025.

The programme focuses on the supporting industryin the fields of components and spare parts, textiles-garment and footwear, andhi-tech industry.

It will prioritise the production of metal,plastic and rubber components and spare parts used for electrical andelectronic products in a bid to satisfy 55 percent of the demand for domesticmanufacturing.

Material production will be the focus of the supportingindustry that serves textile-garment and footwear manufacturing, thus raisingthe rates of domestically-made  materialsin these industries to 65 percent and 75-80 percent by 2020, respectively.

To support the hi-tech industry, focus will beput on the production of materials and specialised equipment, software andservices.

The programme willfacilitate the establishment of companies which provide specialised supportequipment and machinery repair services. It will also encourage the formationof research, development and production systems for new materials whileassisting technology transfer.-VNA
