Summer of volunteering kicks off in Thai Nguyen

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched its summer volunteering campaign in northern Thai Nguyen province on May 28.

The summer programme runs through August with a range of activities,including the provision of free check-ups and medicine to disadvantagedcommunities, blood donation campaigns, and a musical concert to cheer uppatients at Thai Nguyen General Hospital.

Presidentof the Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Phi Long appealed to the 5,000young volunteers who attended the launching ceremony, urging them tofocus on enhancing the effectiveness of their work and identifyingadditional practical projects to implement in their localities.

First launched in 2000, the summer volunteering campaigns haveimpacted significantly on communities throughout the country and playedan important role in educating the young generation.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
