Joining the annualevent, organised by the State Committee for Overseas VietnameseAffairs (COVA), are some 170 outstanding young overseas Vietnamesefrom around the globe.
Deputy Foreign Minister andCOVA Chairman Bui Thanh Son said the camp offers an opportunity foroverseas Vietnamese youth to gain an insight of their homeland’s seasovereignty, patriotism and solidarity, thus helping nurture their prideof and love for the country.
At the openingceremony, participants joined their fellows from Quang Ninh in games andsinging performances about their beloved country’s sea and islands.
The young expatriates also took a tour around the world’s natural heritage Ha Long Bay.
They will travel across Vietnam and engage in a series of activities from now until July 27.-VNA
