Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed ElBashir has expressed his admiration for Vietnam's tremendous economicachievements, saying the country has set a bright example in economicdevelopment.
Sudan wants to learn from Vietnam’sexperience in national construction, President El Bashir said at areception for Pham Sy Tam, ambassador to Egypt and Sudan, on February16.
The establishment and the convening of the Vietnam-Sudaninter-governmental committee’s first session will offer a good chancefor both countries to draw up cooperation programmes, he said.
The president said Sudan wants to boost cooperation with Vietnam inpolitics, economics, investment, trade, science-technology and culture,adding that he is looking forward to receiving Vietnamese leaders inhis country.
Ambassador Tam welcomed the establishment of the inter-governmentalcommittee for economic, scientific and technological cooperation andsaid the two countries should increase the exchange of high-leveldelegations to promote bilateral cooperation, especially inagriculture.
He also welcomed the Sudanese government’s goodwill towards the signingof the 2005 peace agreement, as well as its preparations for upcomingelections./.
