Speeches mark 72nd anniversary of Vietnam – China diplomatic ties

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long has sent via the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam a video-recorded speech to Chinese people on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 – 2022).

Hanoi (VNA) – On behalf of the VietnameseGovernment, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long has sent via the Chinese Embassy inVietnam a video-recorded speech to Chinese people onthe occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the two nations’diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 – 2022).  

In his remarks, Long affirmed the bilateral friendship and neighbourliness,fostered by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong as well as generations of Vietnameseand Chinese leaders, have become a precious asset of the two Parties, States,and peoples.

Developing the countries’ comprehensive strategiccooperative partnership is a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy ofindependence, self-reliance, multilateralisation, and diversification, theofficial stressed.

He said with delight that the bilateral ties grew stably andfruitfully last year.
Expressing his belief in the growth of the ties in the timeto come, Long recommended Vietnamese and Chinese agencies at all levels and sectorsreinforce common awareness of the two countries’ leaders about consolidatingmutual trust and understanding, and promoting the effectiveness of bilateralcooperation, particularly in economy-trade and disease prevention.

It is also necessary to promptly tackle problems arising inthe joint works as well as create favourable conditions to facilitate two-way travel and transactions to nurture the comprehensive strategic cooperativepartnership toward sustainability and practical outcomes, the minister said.

On the occasion, Long extended his New Year and Lunar NewYear greetings to people of both nations.

Meanwhile, in his video-recorded speech to mark theanniversary, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo lauded achievements of theties over the past 72 years.

He stated the Chinese Party and State highly value thedevelopment of such neighbourly friendship and comprehensive cooperation withVietnam.
The diplomat noted China is willing to work with Vietnam tostrengthen political trust, deepen substantive collaboration in all fields, andenhance exchanges and mutual understanding, opening up a new period in therelations between the two parties, countries and peoples./.
