Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A new clinic was inaugurated in Song Tu Tay island commune in Truong Sa district, the central province of Khanh Hoa on May 14.
The 1,000-square metre clinic was built at a total cost of over 20 billion VND (894,600 USD) raised by the the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) from trade union members nationwide.
It includes four rooms with eight beds and nine functional rooms such as emergency, X-ray scanning, ultra-sound scanning and surgery rooms.
On the occasion, the VGCL presented one ultra-sound scanner, water purifiers, water pumping machines, televisions and refrigerators and other equipment to the clinic.
According to VGCL Vice President Tran Van Ly, the clinic will ensure health care for naval soldiers as well as give prompt treatment to fishermen meeting accidents while fishing in Truong Sa waters.
Along with medical staff, health care equipment and medicines have been offered to the Song Tu Tay island clinic in the past few years.
It has provided medical check-ups and treatment for thousands of naval soldiers and fishermen every year.-VNA
