Son La implements ethnic minority policies

The northern mountainous province of Son La disbursed nearly 90 billion VND (4.12 million USD) in the first six months to invest in projects assisting ethnic minorities.

In 2015, Son Lareceived 50 billion VND (2.29 million USD) from the State budget toinvest in 20 settlement projects constructing roads, clean water systemsand schools.

In addition, the Government alsoprovided 34.54 billion VND (1.58 million USD) directly to the communityin the form of seedlings, animals, fertilisers, animal medications andpesticides.

As directed by policies on housing,land, farming land and clean water for daily use, Son La helped ethnicminorities build clean water systems and buy farming implements andmachines with a total value of 18 billion VND (82,000 USD).

The province also assisted 2,948 dignitaries in ethnic minority communities with 4.26 billion VND (195,000 USD).

Besides economic policies, ethnic minority communities received 1.4million copies of newspapers and magazines free of charge in the firstsix months of the year.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
