Police and border guards in the northern mountainous province of Son La arrested an individual suspected of smuggling 2,000 methamphetamine tablets and 3.3 kilograms of opium on June 18.
Police and border guards in the northern mountainous province ofSon La arrested an individual suspected of smuggling 2,000methamphetamine tablets and 3.3 kilograms of opium on June 18.

The detainee is Mua A Giang, 35, from Pu Nhan village, Moc Chau district, Son La province.

Underthe pretence of taking his wife and two-month-old child to a localhospital for a medical check-up, Giang brought the drugs fromVietnam-Laos border into the province.

He told the police that hewas paid 10 million VND (475 USD) by a Lao national to transport thedrugs from the border to Moc Chau town.

The case is under investigation.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.
