Bui DucHai, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, revealed thatthe rate of households currently using electricity in the province isonly 83.6 percent, below the country’s average.
To deal with theissue, the province and the Northern Power Corporation (NPC) under theElectricity of Vietnam (EVN) will launch a project to supply electricityto the targeted families in mid September.
The project, worth135 billion VND (6.25 million USD), will work to connect 5,345households in 72 remote villages of Mai Son and Song Ma districts to thenational grid.
Another project worth 557 billion VND (25.8million USD) that began in May 2012 has so far supplied electricity to20,836 households in the locality.-VNA
