Soc Trang (VNA) – A seminar took place in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on November 16, providing updates on current laws for more than 350 religious dignitaries and respected members of local ethnic communities.
Ha Huu Lien , head of the Steering Committee for Southwestern Region's Department for Ethnic and Religious Affairs, was the main speaker of the event.
Participants learned about State policies and projects related to ethnic minorities, and religions within the region and across the country.
Their behaviours in accordance with the regulations listed would make them role models in their communities, promoting the Government’s efforts to disseminate information and political security.
Soc Trang is home to 400,000 Khmer people, accounting for 31 percent of its population .-VNA
