Hanoi (VNA) – Six diplomats receivedappointment decisions on September 20 to serve as ambassadors for the 2019-2022tenure.
At a ceremony in Hanoi, on behalf of PresidentNguyen Phu Trong, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minhhanded over the decisions.
Accordingly, Pham Sao Mai will be VietnameseAmbassador to China and Micronesia; Le Thi Tuyet Mai Ambassador and PermanentRepresentative of Vietnam to the United Nations, the World Trade Organisationand other international organisations in Geneva (Switzerland); Le Hong LamAmbassador to Norway; Pham Viet Chien Ambassador to Bangladesh; Nguyen ThanhVinh Ambassador to Algeria, Mali, Senegal, Sahrawi, Niger and Gambia; and LuongQuoc Thinh Ambassador to Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Togo, Cameroon, Chad,and Liberia.
Congratulating the ambassadors on theirassignments, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Minh expressed his hope that theywill continue helping to enhance Vietnam’s relations with the countries in allaspects, from politics, security, defence, economy, trade to culture.
He also asked them to help build the Vietnameseembassies into a trustworthy source of support for overseas Vietnamese peopleand businesses.
On behalf of the newly-appointed diplomats,Ambassador Pham Sao Mai affirmed that they will make utmost efforts to fulfilltheir duties, including reinforcing Vietnam’s relations with the countries;persistently and resolutely ensuring the homeland’s interests; proactively andactively building and maintaining a peaceful environment for Vietnam’sintegration into the world; and making use of all international resources tocontribute to national development and promote the country’s stature in theglobal arena./.
