Prof. Dr. VuMinh Khuong, a lecturer of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of PublicPolicy, spoke of the building of eminent public authorities in Singapore whilegiving a presentation in Hanoi on August 6, which was broadcast at 73television sites nationwide.
Khuongdescribed the building of eminent public authorities as an urgent and strategicissue to make a country strong and prosperous.
Singaporehas attracted the best citizens to the Government and seriously looked intoissues that need to be addressed, he said, adding that during the process, thecountry has mobilised external resources and learned from anyone who hasknowledge in this field.
Accordingto the lecturer, Singapore has clear long-term goals and set targets for eachperiod of time. Leaders play the key role while the Government takes the leadin grasping changes. All citizens take responsibility for national development.
Khuongnoted that a sound strategy, an eminent Government and public trust and supportare decisive factors to national development.
During hispresentation, Khuong also talked about the building of eminent publicauthorities in Vietnam.
The eventwas organised by the Organisation Commission of the Party Central Committee andthe steering board of Project 165 on overseastraining for leaders and managers using State budget.
Mai VanChinh, deputy head of the Organisation Commission and the steering board, said the talk aims to introduce Singapore’s experience inadministrative reform and public authority organisation to serve the buildingof a streamline and effective political system.-VNA
