Singapore (VNA) – Singapore is looking at an amendment to its Constitution sothat the country’s Parliament can meet from multiple locations.
The Constitutioncurrently mandates that the Parliament meets in one place.
Leader of the HouseGrace Fu will introduce a bill to amend the Constitution next week.
The move is considered ameasure to support the implementation of social distancing during and after theCOVID-19 pandemic in Singapore.
To date, the SoutheastAsian country has confirmed 14,423 COVID-19 cases, including 14 deaths.
Singapore's economicexperts estimate that the unemployment rate in Singapore is likely to reach 4 percent in2020, and most people will lose their jobs in the retail, aviation andtourism-related industries./.
