Singapore (VNA) – The Singaporean Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on August 5 said the state-city police and governmental agencies boosted measures to ensure security across the country, including border areas.

The move came after they were informed by the Indonesian authorities on the arresting of six suspects who together plotted to attack Marina Bay in Singapore with rockets.

The MHA stated Singaporean security agencies would closely coordinate with Indonesian authorities after the discovered conspiracy to monitor the group’s activities as well as arrest accomplices.

Earlier the same day, Indonesian authorities reported that they arrested six suspects who were accused of planning an attack in Singapore’s Marina Bay with rockets from Indonesia’s Batam island.

The six men were said to belong to the terrorist group Katibah Gigih Rahmat (KGR), including Gigih Rahmat Dewa, 31, who is thought to have masterminded the attack.-VNA
