Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese shares declined on May 24 as investors wereprudent with their transactions.
The investors splashed out 4.5 trillion VND (198 million USD) purchasing 163.1million shares on the day, or two thirds of the volume sold on May 23.
The benchmark VN Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange dropped 3.02 points toclose at 985.92 points at the end of the trading day.
The HNX Index on the Hanoi Stock Exchange fell 1.04 points to 117.07 pointswhile the UpCoM Index on the Unlisted Public Company Market lost 0.19 to closeat 53.88 points.
Laggardswere seen in the stocks of security, insurance, banking, retail sale and wholesale sectors.
Large-cap stocks like VNM, VHM and VIC performed well and closed in greencolour. Meanwhile, the sale of GAS, VCB and BID went in contrary trend.-VNA
