Hanoi(VNA) – Seychelles wants to cooperate with Hanoi in a project to develop plasma gasification waste treatment models, said Nico Barito,Assistant to President of the Republic ofSeychelles.

Duringa working session with Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen DucChung on December 27 in Hanoi, Barito said Seychelles will provide Hanoi with capitaland technology to implement the project.

He expressedhis hope that the two sides will sign a memorandum of understanding onestablishing a technical group to study feasibility and carry out the project.

Energyproduced by the plant will be sold to Vietnamese electricity companies, henoted, adding that by applying the technology, waste can be also used toproduce bricks.

For his part, Chung lauded the gasification technology recommended by Barito, andreaffirmed Hanoi’s urgent demand for waste treatment.
He expressed hisbelief that the technology can be expanded across Hanoi and to other localitiesnationwide.-VNA
