Five speakers at the seminar are successful scientists of different generations, who have made great contributions to the promotion of the relations between Vietnam and France.
70-year-old Le Toan Thuy, head of the Biomass research team at the Centre for the Study of the Biosphere from Space and the oldest speaker at the event, highlighted difficulties facing women scientists during their career. She encouraged women who love science not to abandon their passion. Dr Thuy initiated the BIOMASS satellite project for forest biomass assessment, which is scheduled to be launched in 2023.
Meanwhile, Dinh Thi Lan Anh, a third-year PhD student at the Paris Observatory said that support from leadership officials is necessary for women scientists to develop their career.
Participants at the event recognised contributions by Vietnamese women scientists undertaking scientific research in France, inspiring younger generations to follow the path of older generations of women scientists./.
