The fund fulfilled its plan to provide 5,000 scholarships this year,said a meeting of the fund managing board convened on Aug. 1 to discussactivities for remaining months of 2009.
In the second half of this year, the fund will have its plan ofproviding 5,000 scholarships and helmets in the next year, work withthe Kim Dong and Thanh Nien publishing houses to present books to theVu A Dinh memorial house, discuss with Unilever Vietnam Group on aproject on clean water to needy mountainous and ethnic schools.
At the meeting, Truong My Hoa, Fund President, presented the Cubanembassy’s representatives with 100 scholarships worth 5,000 USD toCuban students.
The Fund also handed over the Foreign Ministry's representative another100 scholarships worth 5,000 USD to overseas Vietnamese students inLaos./.
