This is Shoygu’s first working visit to Vietnam since he took up the ministerial position last November.
The visit is expected to help enhance the existing friendship betweenVietnam and Russia and promote cooperation in militaryengineering, thereby boosting further defence relations between the twocountries.
During his stay, Shoygu will lay a wreath at theMonument to Heroes and Martyrs and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minhat his mausoleum in Hanoi.
He will hold talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Phung Quang Thanh and pay a courtesy visit to President Truong Tan Sang.
He also plans to visit the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre and the Naval Zone 4.-VNA
