Russia-VN friendship association reviews work

The Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association (RVFA) convened its seventh congress on April 20 in Moscow to review its performance in the 2007-2012 term and set forth tasks for the new period.
The Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association (RVFA) convened its seventhcongress on April 20 in Moscow to review its performance in the2007-2012 term and set forth tasks for the new period.

According to RVFA President Vladimir Buyanov, the association hasduring its past term set up new chapters, admitted more members, andpublished many books and documents on the multifaceted cooperationbetween the two countries as well as between RVFA and the Vietnam-RussiaFriendship Association (VRFA).

Speaking at thecongress, Dao Trong Thi, VRFA Chairman highlighted RVFA’s activecontributions to developing and strengthening the traditional friendshipbetween Vietnam and Russia .

He said he hopesthe friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries willbe promoted to benefit both countries’ people, affirming VRFA will makemore efforts in doing that.

During the congress,RVFA members selected their new steering committee and re-electedVladimir Buyanov as their President in the new term.

On the occasion, the Moscow Peace Fund presented the “Peace Dove”medal to Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Vietnam Union of FriendshipOrganisations in recognition of his contributions to the development ofthe Russia-Vietnam friendship.-VNA
