Hanoi (VNA) – Two vessels of the Republic ofKorea (RoK) Navy began a visit to Vietnam on December 7 after arriving at CamRanh International Port, the south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, thesame day.
The ships, ROKS Cheon Ji and ROKS Chungmugong YiSunshi, carry 39 officers and 485 crewmembers led by Rear Admiral Lee SangHoon.
This is the second time in 2016 RoK military and missionvessels have visited Vietnam. Last May, ship BARADO of the country’s coastguard force visited central Da Nang city.
This time’s visit aims to bolster cooperationbetween the two armies, including navies, thereby helping to enhance thecountries’ strategic partnership.
During their stay until December 10, the RoKofficers are scheduled to meet with officials of the Khanh Hoa provincialPeople’s Committee and the High Command of Naval Zone 4. They will also visitthe Vietnam Naval Academy based in Khanh Hoa.-VNA
