He expressed his joy when more and more young Vietnameselearn Korean, and said he feels he should do more to promote the relationsbetween the two countries, particularly in educating young generations aboutthe RoK-Vietnam relations.
The RoK President talks to students (Photo: VNA) He noted that Vietnam has organized many cultural exchangeswith the RoK, which he said provides favourable conditions for young Vietnameseunderstand more about the Korean culture.
“The RoK government will have more policies to support young Vietnamese inaccessing Korean language and Korean culture,” he said.
President of VNU Hanoi Le Quan said the VNU Hanoi was thefirst public training establishment to open the Korean language and Koreanstudies in 1993, immediately after Vietnam and the RoK set up diplomatic ties.
At present, Korean is taught at almost 60 colleges anduniversities in Vietnam with more than 50,000 students, he said.
Quan asked the RoK government to continueassisting Vietnam in education and technology transfer in general and in theteaching and research of the Korean language and culture in particular.
On the occasion, President Yoon Suk Yeol and his spouse answered many questionsof Vietnamese students about the Korean culture and the Korean Wave in Vietnam.
Also on June 22, the RoK President had a meeting with 300 representatives fromthe Korean community in Vietnam, with the former coach of the Vietnam nationalfootball team Park Hang Seo among them.
Vietnam is home to more than 170,000 Korean expats, thelargest Korean community among ASEAN countries./.
