Seoul (VNA) – TheRepublic of Korea (RoK) and the Philippines are organising a series of culturalevents throughout 2019, including performances of K-pop music, as part ofactivities to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
The decision was announced after leaders of the two countries came to an agreementat a bilateral summit last year that 2019 would be the RoK-Philippines year of culturalexchange.
The RoK’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism said a K-pop musicperformance is scheduled at the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippine capital ofManila on March 7 as part of the events.
The programme will bring together famousmusical artists such as the RoK’s NCT Dream, April, and Noir; and the Philippinerock band Silent Sanctuary.
Over the next few months, the Philippines’ National Committee of Culture and Artswill host the “Philippine Culture Days” programme in the RoK, while the RoKministry will organise a film festival and a traditional Taekwondo martial artsfestival, as well as handicrafts exhibitions in the Philippines. –VNA
