Addressing the conference, Deputy Ministerof Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong said the KSP was the result ofpractical cooperation between the two countries.
Hesaid it helped build and upgrade the capacity of Vietnamesegovernmental officials and agencies in policy management and design bygiving consultations and support for the implementation of the policies.
RoK Ambassador Jun Dea Joo said the success of theprogramme was due to the great effort put in by both RoK and Vietnameseexperts and researchers.
It aimed to offer helpful recommendations to policy-makers in shaping socio-economic development, he said.
The KSP covered four topics; national energy policy, joining theglobal supply chain, social housing development and building the Law onEnvironment Protection.
Associate Prof. Dr. Bui TatThang, head of the Institute for Development Strategy, said the RoK’sexperience and recommendations are useful sources for the building ofsocio-economic development strategy for Vietnam in the 2011-2020period.
In the coming time, more topics will beadded to the programme, including the upgrade of the industry sector, astrategy to develop human resources in Vietnam to regionalstandards, the management of economic groups and the building of aforecast system for the Vietnamese markets, he said.
The KSP was launched in 2004 by the RoK’s Ministry of Strategy andFinance with the purpose of sharing the country’s experience withdeveloping nations.-VNA
