Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – Surgeons from the Republic of Korea (RoK) andthe Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy provided free surgery for 30children with cleft palates in the central and Central Highlands regions fromMarch 17-21.
Those childrenreceiving operations were provided with 300 USD for surgery and hospitalisationcosts.
On the occasion,doctors also offered medical check-ups for children who had been operated on inprevious courses.
Deputy head of the Odonto-StomatologyWard under the hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Tran Tan Taistated that this is the fifth time the RoK’s non-profit organisation GlobalCare has coordinated with the university to organise free surgery programmesfor children with cleft palate.
To date, more than 100children in the central and Central Highlands regions have benefited from theprogramme.
This time, Global Careand the university jointly held a seminar on cleft palate surgery to share andupdate information on cutting-edge technologies in the field. –VNA
