The event is a part of activities nationwide to mark the 67th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).
From1930 to 1945, more than 1,000 revolutionary soldiers were detained inthe Son La prison. The prison is now the resting place of 30 martyrs whowere held and lost their lives there.
On July 25, reburialceremonies were held in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and KienGiang for remains of 264 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts wholaid down their lives in Cambodia during wartime.
Since 2001,remains of more than 2,900 Vietnamese fallen soldiers in Cambodia havebeen repatriated to Tay Ninh, while remains of over 1,800 others to KienGiang.-VNA
