Speaking at the event,held on the occasion of the 71st War Invalids and Martyrs Day,Deputy Chairman of the Binh Phuoc People’s Committee Nguyen Tien Dung affirmedthat locals have taken various concrete acts to show their gratitude to thosewho sacrificed their lives to national independence and freedom. The official alsostressed that the search for remains of the martyrs in the battlefields and theirburial in the homeland have always enjoyed great attention from localauthorities.
The Invalids andMartyrs Day is a special chance for the entire country to commemorate millionsof martyrs and war invalids who sacrificed their lives and health during thewars.
In 1947, just two years after President Ho ChiMinh delivered the declaration of independence of Vietnam, the first decree onpreferential policies for war invalids and fallen soldiers was issued.
