Reference exchange rate up 5 VND at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,128 VND/USD on April 25, up 5 VND from the last working day of previous week (April 22).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set thedaily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,128 VND/USD on April 25, up5 VND from the last working day of previous week (April 22).

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, theceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,821 VND/USDand the floor rate 22,421 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates at commercial banks allrose.

At 8:30 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at22,800 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,110 VND/USD, up 10 VND from April 22.

Meanwhile, BIDV added 5 VND to both rates, listingthe buying rate at 22,830 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,110 VND/USD.

During the week from April 18-22, the dailyreference exchange rate followed an upward trend and ended the week up 16 VNDfrom the rate on Monday./.
