Hanoi (VNA) – TheState Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,915 VND perUSD on February 15, up 14 VND from the previous day (February 14).
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is23,590 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,220 VND/USD.
Meanwhile, the opening hour rates atcommercial banks saw slight fluctuations.
Vietcombank cut 5 VND from the buying rate,listing the buying rate at 23,150 VND/USD and kept the selling rate unchanged at23,250 VND/USD.
At BIDV, the buying rate reducedby 5 VND to 23,150 VND/USD and the selling rate went up 5 VND to 23,250VND/USD.
Techcombank cut both rates by 5VND to 23,130 VND/USD (buying) and 23,250 VND/USD (selling).
During the first week after theLunar New Year holiday (February 11-15), the daily reference exchange rate wentup on the first two days, down on the next day and stayed unchanged on Thursdaybefore going up again on the last day. The rate ended the week 20 VND higherthan the beginning of the week.
The rates listed at commercialbanks saw only slight fluctuations throughout the week.-VNA
