Reference exchange rate stays stable

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,117 VND/USD on December 3, unchanged from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set thedaily reference exchange rate at 23,117 VND/USD on December 3, unchanged fromthe previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rateapplicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,812 VND/USD and the floorrate 22,425 VND/USD

Meanwhile, the opening-hour rates at commercial banks surged.

At 8:15am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,600 VND/USD  and the selling rate at 22,830 VND/USD, bothup 40 VND from December 2.

BIDV raised both rates by 15 VND, listing the buying rate at 22,630VND/USD  and the selling rate at 22,830VND/USD.

During the week from November 29 to December 3, the dailyreference exchange rate followed a downward trend for most of the week exceptfor Wednesday. It ended the week down 26 VND./.
